MyWave Care · a MyWave Help membership
Someone trustworthy, always on call for your parent’s tech.
For $396 a year, one named local human is on call for your parent’s tech — the annual house visit, the “is this email real?” call, the same person every time, and never any standing access to their computer.
Tell us about your parent’s setup →One named person — local, here in Indiana. Yours for as long as you’re a member, so it’s never a stranger on the other end. Never connects to a computer unless you turn it on. Every session logged. No standing access, ever.
Is this you?
You’re in Indianapolis, or Chicago, or two states away. You get the call — the panicked one about a “Geek Squad renewal” email, the one about a strange call asking for gift cards, the one about the printer, the one where Mom sounds shaken and you can’t drop everything and drive.
You can’t be the first call every time. That’s the call Care exists for.
Before she clicks, before she calls the number on the email — she calls her person.
What Care actually is.
A named human on call for your parent’s tech, for the small stuff and the once-a-year stuff. Not a bench, not a dispatch pool, not a gig worker. One person, who learns your parent’s setup and stays with them. Whether that’s Mat or another member of our small team, it’s the same person every time — a name and a face your parent comes to know.
What’s included:
- An annual house visit. Your person comes to the house once a year, goes through everything, and leaves it better than they found it. This is the visit you’d make yourself if you could.
- Two priority house calls a year (trip fee waived, in our regular service area). For the “can you come look at the screen?” moments.
- Unlimited short remote calls. The “is this email real?” line. The “someone called asking for gift cards — is that real?” line. The “how do I attach the photo?” call. Quick help, whenever it’s needed.
- 15% off anything else — extra visits, a new-device setup, a custom PC.
The calls aren’t always about the computer. Sometimes they’re about a letter that says “you’ve won,” or a call from someone claiming to be a grandchild in trouble. We’ve spent decades in corporate tech and finance — we know the patterns scammers run against older adults. We won’t give your parent financial advice, but we will help them pause, spot the red flags, and call you before they send anything.
And one thing that is not included: standing access. Your person never holds a key to your parent’s computer between calls. (More on that below.)
Who it’s for — the part that matters.
MyWave Care is bought by the adult child for the parent.
You’re not buying tech-support hours. You’re buying someone reliable is always there for Mom — so the first call from her doesn’t have to ruin your afternoon, or end with her clicking on the wrong thing.
Most months, you’ll never use it. That’s the point. Insurance you don’t use isn’t wasted; it means the year went quietly.
$396 a year to know Mom’s covered.
How it works.
- You talk to usabout your parent, their setup, what worries you. A real conversation, not a form.
- Your person meets your parentthe first visit (it counts as the annual), in their home. A name and a face, so the next call isn’t from a stranger. A fridge magnet with their direct number gets stuck on the fridge.
- They’re on callthe scam-check calls, the quick questions, the “come look at this” visits. Two priority house calls a year included; anything beyond is 15% off.
- It renews annuallyor cancels, no friction. You’re not locked in.
“How do I know you’re not the scam?”
It’s the right question. The most common tech-support scam in the country imitates the most common tech-support brand — so here’s the standard, four things, all verifiable:
- Your person is named. A real name, a real face, a bio on the site. Scammers don’t put their face on a website and drive to your mom’s house.
- Your person is local. Kokomo, Indiana, and the surrounding region. A real address, a real person who shows up in a driveway.
- Remote access is consent-based. Your person never connects to a device unless your parent turns it on. Every session is logged. It ends the second they say stop. No standing access, ever — no one holds a key to the computer between calls.
- No upsell, no condescension. We’ll tell your parent not to spend money when they don’t need to. The membership exists for peace of mind, not to sell a TV or a protection plan.
If any of those stops being true, the deal’s off. That’s the standard.
Pricing.
$396 a year
— a year of knowing your parent’s got someone to call.
Or $39 a month, if you’d rather not commit to the year.
That’s it. No tiers, no add-ons, no surprises. Anything beyond the included visits and remote calls is 15% off the standard rates.
Questions.
- “Is this worth it when I could just call my mom myself?”
- You will. Care isn’t a replacement for you — it’s a replacement for the call you can’t take at 2pm on a Tuesday from the office, and the call where the answer is “I don’t know, let me drive out and look at it.” You’re buying the next call — the one to your person — so the first call from Mom doesn’t have to ruin your afternoon.
- “Why not just pay per-issue, or use Geek Squad when something breaks?”
- Per-issue is there if you want it, at or under the big-box rates. But per-issue means your parent has to decide something is broken before anyone helps, and the scam email doesn’t feel broken enough to call about. Care makes the small call free — which is exactly the call that prevents the big one. And Geek Squad is a rotating bench; you won’t get the same person twice. With Care, you get the same person, every time.
- “What if Mom needs more than the plan includes?”
- Anything beyond the included visits and remote calls is 15% off. If your parent’s needs turn out to be beyond what Care’s built for, we’ll say so honestly and help you figure out the right fit — even if that’s not us.
- “Can it cover both my parents / my in-laws too?”
- Care covers a household. Talk to us about your situation and we’ll tell you plainly what makes sense.
- “Will anyone have access to my parent’s computer between calls?”
- No. Never. Your person connects only when your parent turns access on, every session is logged, and it ends when they say stop. There is no standing key. That’s the rule the whole thing is built on.
- “Can you help with scams that aren’t tech-related — like a call asking for gift cards?”
- Yes — that’s a big part of what the “is this real?” calls are for. We’ve spent decades in corporate tech and finance, and we know the patterns scammers run against older adults. We’re not financial advisors and we won’t tell your parent what to do with their money — but we can help them pause, spot the red flags, and call you before they send anything.
- “What if my parent doesn’t live in Kokomo?”
- We’re based in Kokomo and regularly visit Tipton, Peru, Logansport, Marion, Anderson, the Indy exurbs, and the Lafayette fringe. The two included house calls a year cover our normal service area. If your parent is further out, ask us — we’ll tell you plainly whether it works and how the travel is handled.
