MyWave Harbor · your data comes home, we keep the lights on
A private server that's truly yours.
Own a custom-built machine outright, or rent private space on ours. Either way: your own cloud, your own files, your own optional local AI — without surrendering anything to big tech.
Your files shouldn't live in Big Tech's cloud.
Your photos, your documents, your data — they belong in a harbor you control, not on a server farm run by an ad company. MyWave Harbor is your own private cloud: your own Nextcloud, your own storage, your own rules. Two ways to get there.
Harbor Host
We host it for you.
Your own dedicated, private environment on MyWave hardware. We handle updates, backups, and uptime; you get all the benefits of a private cloud with none of the upkeep. Run by a real person who knows your setup.
Harbor Own
Own it outright.
A custom-built server, specified to exactly what you need, delivered and installed. Pre-loaded with open-source software you own — no subscriptions, no lock-in. Parts, labor, and setup are documented and handed over.
What's actually on it: Nextcloud.
Every Harbor server runs Nextcloud — the open-source private cloud that replaces the Google, Apple, and Microsoft stack with something you own. Files that sync across every phone, tablet, and computer you own. Photos that back themselves up automatically. Calendar, contacts, and mail that sync straight to the apps already on your phone. Documents you can open and edit right in the browser — Word, Excel, PowerPoint — no Microsoft account required.
A few of the things people use it for most:
- Photo backup that isn't Google. Every photo and video you take backs up to your own cloud automatically — the comforting part of Google Photos, without the part where an ad company scans your memories.
- Your files, on every screen. Documents, PDFs, tax folders, the kid's school stuff — one private place, identical on every device.
- A calendar that stays in the family. One shared calendar for appointments, practices, and trips, syncing into the calendar app already on everyone's phone.
- Share a file without handing over the keys. Send a link, then add a password, set it to expire Friday, or lock it to view-only. You stay in control even after it's out in the world.
- Edit documents together, in the browser. Open and co-write Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files in real time — on your server, not a stranger's.
Everything is encrypted at rest, versioned so nothing is really lost, and backed up — recoverable, not gambled with. And there's room to grow: when you're ready, Harbor can run private local AI on your own data, too (more on that below).
Your own private AI.
Want AI without feeding your life to OpenAI or Google? Harbor can run AI models directly on your server — or on dedicated hardware we manage for you. Your questions, your documents, your conversations never leave your network.
- Ask your documents anything. Chat with your own files, notes, and email — answers grounded in your data, with sources.
- A familiar chat, fully private. A web chat the whole family or team can use — the kind of interface you already know — with zero data going to big tech.
- Built into your cloud. Summarize a document, draft a reply, transcribe a recording — right from Nextcloud.
- No per-token bills, no rate limits. Your hardware, your models. Use it as much as you want — the meter isn't running.

The Harbor Host trust promise.
Because Harbor Host runs on our hardware, we hold ourselves to a strict standard — and we'll put it in writing:
- We never read your files. Your photos, documents, and data are yours. We don't open, read, or browse their contents — ever.
- Limited, non-specific monitoring. We keep your server healthy by watching signals only — health, error counts, storage used, backup status. We do not collect your filenames or raw logs.
- Big changes need your OK. Routine maintenance happens without bothering you; major upgrades or anything we can't roll back need your sign-off first.
- Exit guarantee, in writing. Take your data and leave anytime, with our help.
Privacy isn't a feature we added. It's the reason we exist. — MyWave
Pricing.
Harbor Host is priced by storage — the one thing that actually costs us — not by locking features away. Every paid tier is a dedicated, private Nextcloud instance with the full app set, run by a real person. Annual billing is 15% off, with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
- Trial · 14 days 1 TB, full features, free — with one onboarding call.
- Starter · 500 GB $12/mo ($122/yr) — for one person: replaces iCloud or Google Drive.
- Home · 1 TB $20/mo ($204/yr) — a household: photos, videos, documents.
- Home · 2 TB $32/mo ($326/yr) — a growing family library.
- Home · 5 TB $55/mo ($561/yr) — families and creators who've outgrown Google.
- Home · 10 TB $95/mo ($969/yr) — serious libraries; the natural point to graduate to Harbor Own.
- + Local AI $30/mo add-on — private AI on your own data (coming soon).
Harbor Own is a one-time build — parts, labor, and setup, quoted transparently for exactly what you need. Both paths stay open: start hosted and graduate to owning hardware when it makes sense, or own from day one. Team and business tiers come later.
Questions.
What's the difference between Host and Own?
Host: your server runs on our hardware and we maintain it — you just use it.
Own: we build a server and you own the hardware outright.
Can MyWave read my data?
Never the contents of your files. Because Harbor Host runs on our hardware, we
do maintain the system layer — the OS, database, and configuration —
so we can keep it updated and secure. That access stops well short of your file
contents. We never open, read, or browse them.
How do you know if something's wrong with my server?
Monitoring is always on, and deliberately narrow: server health, error counts
and categories, how much storage you're using, and whether backups succeeded. We
do not collect your filenames or raw logs. When a specific error needs a closer
look, the detail stays on your server — only summarized counts reach us.
What about the big stuff — upgrades and changes?
Routine maintenance happens without bothering you. For major upgrades, or
anything we can't roll back, we ask first. Everything we do is logged and
reviewable.
Can I start on Host and move to Own later?
Yes — that's a path we actively support. Many customers grow into owning
hardware once their library does.
Can I run my own AI?
Yes — local, private AI is available on capable tiers. Your questions and
documents never leave your server.
What if I want to leave?
You take your data and go, and we'll help you pack — in writing, any time.
